सकेंतस्थळा विषयी

पारंपारिक ज्ञान पिढ्यानपिढ्या समाजात पुरवले जाते. दुर्गम भागातील आदिवासींचे आणि ग्रामस्थांचे पारंपारिक ज्ञान त्यांना प्रतिकूल परिस्थितीत टिकून राहण्यास सक्षम करते. तथापि, हे ज्ञान मुख्यतः विशिष्ट ठिकाणी मर्यादित आहे. एथनोबॉटनी, पर्यावरण शास्त्र, पारंपारिक औषधे, अन्न संसाधने, पिके, हस्तकला, सांस्कृतिक कला इत्यादी बद्दलचे हे पारंपारिक ज्ञान दस्तऐवजीकरण आणि जतन करणे आवश्यक आहे. पारंपारिक ज्ञानाला मोठे महत्त्व आहे आणि याबाबत बाह्य जगालाही सांगणे आवश्यक आहे. आदिवासी / गावकरी त्यांचे ज्ञान सामायिक करू आणि देवाणघेवाण करू शकतील असे व्यासपीठ विकसित करण्याची खूप गरज आहे.

हे लक्षात घेऊन संकेतस्थळ विकसित करण्याचे ठरवले गेले, जे वापरकर्त्यासाठी अनुकूल असेल आणि ग्रामस्थ या संकेतस्थळावर सहजपणे माहिती प्रविष्ट करू शकतील. या संकेतस्थळाद्वारे ते ज्ञानकोश तयार करण्यात थेट योगदान देऊ शकतील

व्यासपीठाच्या सुरुवातीचे डिझाइन आणि कॉन्फिगरेशन असोसिएशन फॉर प्रोग्रेसिव्ह कम्युनिकेशन्स (एपीसी) च्या कॅटलॅटिक इंटरव्हेंशन ग्रांट्सच्या मदतीने करण्यात आले. यानंतरची सुधारणा महाराष्ट्र जनुककोश प्रकल्पांतर्गत करण्यात आली असून यासाठी लागणारा निधी राजीव गांधी विज्ञान आणि तंत्रज्ञान आयोग (महाराष्ट्र शासन) तर्फे देण्यात आला.

Traditional knowledge is passed from generation to generation within communities. Traditional knowledge of tribals and villagers from remote areas has enabled them to survive adverse conditions. However, this knowledge is mostly restricted to particular localities. This traditional knowledge about ethnobotany, ecology, traditional medicines, food resources, crops, crafts, cultural activities, etc. needs to be documented and conserved. Traditional knowledge has great significance and needs to be shared with the outside world.  There is a great need to develop a platform where tribal/villagers can share and exchange their knowledge.

Keeping this in mind, it is proposed to develop a web-based platform that will be user friendly and villagers can easily enter information on the platform. In this way, they can directly contribute to the knowledge database.

The initial design and configuration of the platform were supported by the Catalytic Intervention Grants of the Association for Progressive Communications (APC) and the later development of the same was undertaken under the Maharashtra Gene Bank Project and the funding was provided by the Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission (Government of Maharashtra).
